Moscato d'Asti is a DOCG from Piedmont, which produces an Italian sparkling wine from the Muscat grape variety, in the Asti region, hence its name: Moscato d'Asti.
This fruity white wine is both sweet and slightly sparkling. It presents beautiful muscat aromas on a straw-yellow color. Moscato d'Asti should not be confused with Asti Spumante. Indeed, Spumante is a sparkling wine, which undergoes a real "prise de mousse", while Moscato is slightly sparkling.
The Moscato d'Asti is slightly sweet, low in alcohol (5 or 6 degrees of alcohol). The Maison du Vin works with Domaine BAVA and COCCHI in Piedmont.
