Located on the north coast, about 40 km long and open to the south towards the Bay of San Francisco, Napa Valley represents only 4% of California's production but is home to many of its most prestigious estates. The vineyards extend along the north-south oriented valley, closed by two mountain ranges, drawing a very harmonious and hilly landscape between vineyards, oak forests and pastures.
Napa is divided into about fifteen appellations, some of which enjoy a good reputation, such as Carneros, due to the presence of well-known producers and a specific style of wine.
