The Crémant de Loire is subject to strict specifications: manual harvesting to select the best bunches of grapes, in openwork boxes to preserve the fruit, aging 12 months minimum on slats, limited pressing, traditional method respected ...
Its appellation area is vast since it extends over a large part of the Loire Valley (Anjou, Touraine, and especially Saumur appellation regions).
In mono-variety or in blends, the grape varieties are either white (chenin, chardonnay) or black (cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, pineau d'Aunis...). However, in Saumur, it is the chenin that is most used, sometimes blended with Cabernet. The latter is mainly used in the elaboration of Crémant rosé. Classified in the category of white or rosé sparkling wines, it can be enjoyed rather young.
Characterized by its elegant robe with golden or salmon reflections for the rosés, as well as by its fine bubbles, it is perfect as an aperitif or to end the meal. It surprises by its freshness, its vivacity, and its aromas of citrus fruits, honey, apricot, hazelnuts or vanilla for the whites, or red fruits for the rosés.
