Between Dauphiné and Provence, on the left bank of the Rhône, the Coteaux du Tricastin AOC covers 2830 hectares, spread over 21 communes: an original geographical entity exposed to a Mediterranean-type climate. The Mistral wind, the dominant wind, favours exceptional sunshine and gives the Coteaux du Tricastin all its generosity.
Tricastin is the northernmost of the Mediterranean areas of the Rhone Valley, but its climate is nuanced by the proximity of the reliefs.
The rosés, generally of bleeding, are almost always dominated by grenache accompanied by cinsault, syrah or carignan. They are wines of character, they dissimulate their power thanks to a beautiful balance and a marked fruitiness, to better seduce the consumers.
Tricastin are really wines to be discovered. Little known today by the general public because of their youth and the few means available, the wines of this AOC deserve to be better appreciated.
