The DO Ribera del Duero is located in a strip of the Duero River basin. It has a wine-growing area of 22,319 hectares. and it has 8,255 winemakers and 311 registered wineries.
The vineyards measure between 700 and 1,000 meters above sea level. Most of the vineyards in the lower areas are composed of sand, marl and limestone sediments, while the upper vineyards have a higher content of silty sands or clay.
Ribera del Duero rosé wines are made with at least 50% of authorized red grape varieties : Tempranillo Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Garnacha, Malbec, Merlot and Albillo.
