With 115,000 hectares and 60 appellations, the Bordeaux wine region represents the largest AOC vineyard in France. The vines benefit an oceanic climate, temperate in winter and warm in summer. The soils are as rich and varied as the appellations. Among the most famous ones, let's mention : Saint-Emilion - Margaux - Pessac-Léognan - Saint-Julien - Sauternes - Pomerol or Pauillac.
Most of the great classified growths, and more generally the wines of Bordeaux, are made from blends. The most present red grape varieties are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère. Two other minority grape varieties are also used : malbec and petit-verdot.
The Bordeaux region is a real source for the conception of wine, in all its forms. For wine lovers as well as for the more initiated, everyone will be able to find the wine that suits his or her needs.
