If the whites of Alsace remain the best known wines of the French terroir, the reds also do well in an atypical and unique range that has nothing to be ashamed of compared to its illustrious colleagues.
Pinot Noir is a very old grape variety, which is of course found in our region. It is the only red grape variety authorized in Alsace. 10% of the Alsatian vineyard surfaces are now planted with Pinot Noir. This renewed love for this so particular grape variety is linked to a production that is becoming more and more qualitative. The Reds of Alsace are regaining their letters of nobility, thanks to committed winemakers who produce wines with a more assertive structure.
