The AOC Beaune is an appellation Villages of the Côte de Beaune obtained in 1936. Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, this appellation includes 42 Premiers Crus, or 70% of the vineyard, including the famous Clos des Mouches.
Beaune, famous for the sale of its hospice wines, produces 15,500 hectoliters of wine each year from its 420 hectares. The red wines of Beaune, made from Pinot Noir, are quite powerful and have a rich aromatic palette supported by quite elegant tannins.
