The AOC Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune extends, with the appellation Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits, to the west of the Côte-d'Or. A set of valleys hosts, on its plateaus and hillsides, vineyards perched between 350 and 500 meters above sea level. The Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune vineyard represents 755 hectares, divided into four zones: the first, in the forest of Corton; the second, close to Pommard; another, behind the Saint-Romain vineyard; and finally a last one extends the Maranges.
The Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune region produces 37,500 hectoliters of wine of the three colors annually. 80 % of them are reds with sometimes very different profiles, but all are made from the pinot noir grape variety.
