The AOC Corbières extends from the gates of Carcassonne to Narbonne, on a surface of 11.800 hectares. It is the appellation of Languedoc with the largest surface area. It produces about 550,000 hectoliters per year on very diversified soils, and the vines are cultivated at an altitude of more than 400 meters down the Mont Tauch, between Tuchan and Villeneuve des Corbières.
The vineyard of the AOC Corbières is segmented into 10 terroirs such as the terroir of Sigean, or the terroir of Duban. Several grape varieties are used in the production of red wines: carignan, grenache noir, cinsault, syrah and mourvèdre.
The red Corbières are fleshy, elegant and have a good ageing potential. They are also characterized by complex roasting aromas.
