To the north of the long Igé-Azé-Bissy-la-Mâconnaise valley, the Mâcon-Cruzille delimitation extends the Mâcon-Lugny slopes in continuity to the commune of Royer where the Mâcon-Mancey vineyard begins.
Reflecting its surface area and varied topography, the vineyard delimited in Mâcon-Cruzille presents two profiles of white wines.
Beautiful light yellow gold with silvery reflections, one is vinified and matured in vats, offering a nose open to the fruity range of wines from the central Mâconnais (orchard fruits, apple, quince, peach) combined with spring floral aromas (acacia, hawthorn, honeysuckle). The attack is sincere without being acidic, it is unctuous and fat.
The other is a yellow gold color, the other is a traditional barrel ageing, diffusing empyreumatic and lactic (butter) aromas in the first youth of the vintage, evolving with age towards a complexity made of spicy (liquorice, cinnamon) and vegetal (tea, verbena, thyme) fragrances. Rather mineral, the mouth evokes chalk, flint and sometimes iodine.
