The Mâcon-Chaintré vineyard occupies the extreme southern tip of the Mâconnais Mountains, in the extension of the Mâcon-Vinzelles appellation area. In the south, the Saint-Véran begins in the commune of Chânes.
While the village of Chaintré was established around its church perched at 274 meters, the castle, which has been greatly modified since the 14th century, was built at the lowest point of the hillside. Its successive owners, wealthy merchants and ennobled royal officers, attest to the importance of the Lyon bourgeoisie in the qualitative extension of the vineyard and the wine trade.
Fruit of a geographically very coherent terroir, Mâcon-Chaintré has the accent of its meridionality reflected by its brilliant yellow gold color. Likewise, the first nose is finely expressive recalling citrus and exotic fruits.
In a second time, delicate aromas of tree flowers bring a certain aromatic complexity. Matter, length, balance: the wine proves fat, round and stretches little by little on the finish.
