"the vietti family has produced wines for four generations in their winery of castiglione falletto, a small medieval town located in the heart of one of the most propitious regions for the cultivation of the vineyard, the barolo area. in 1957 alfredo currado married luciana vietti and, after the death of his father-in-law in 1960, took over the family business and bet on the highest quality of its production, positioning the winery among the best in langhe and initiating the conquest of the international market. passionate about art, luciana and alfredo also began an interesting work in the design of their labels, giving life to increasingly unique and creative bottles. today the winery has become the property of the american group krause, but the oenological management continues in the hands of the vietti family under the expert direction of luca currado. the new property has further expanded the winery’s great heritage of vineyards, which now extends across some of the most legendary crus of langhe and barolo. rocche, ravera, lazzarito, villero and brunate are some of the crus that offer us many other faces of the nebbiolo variety. the style, despite the commercial scope of the winery, has remained faithful to tradition, which translates into long ageing in barrels and an austere, solid and compact wine profile, aimed at a long evolution over time. in addition to these wines, the winery also offers us its barolo castiglione, a wine that comes from the mixture of several plots and that is always among the best of the denomination; the langhe nebbiolo perbacco, an authentic ""barolino"" with an aging of two years in barrels; and finally its arneis, which is counted among the most recognized piedmontese whites and receives every year a good number of awards."
