"domaine peyre rose was created in the early 1980s by marlène soria, on the heights of saint-pargoire, between béziers and montpellier. the estate of 25 hectares is mainly planted in red (70% syrah then black grenache, mourvèdre and carignan), with two hectares of white (50% rolle, 40% roussane, and various grape varieties including viognier). a dazzling destiny as that of this farm that was originally created only to make a small wine for the consumption of marlène soria and her relatives. in the 1988’s, and while languedoc is not in the spotlight, the pope of tasters , the american robert parker, then goes through there and is transcended by the quality of the wines produced here. this was followed by several distinctions that contributed to the present reputation of the name peyre-rose. certified in organic farming, the estate produces typical wines, with beautiful concentrations and very long ageing (doubled by aging in bottle before marketing). the production is of high quality, limited in quantity and therefore very sought after by amateurs! don’t miss out if idealwine has some! the peyre-rose estate offers us here a red wine composed of a blend of syrah, grenache and carignan and hardened. the vines bloom on a soil of pink cistus, on which grow heather and garrigue. the plots, a real favourite of the winemaker, are located on the heights of saint pargoire. this vintage has a beautiful dark colour. on the nose, aromas of red fruits, garrigue and spicy and peppery notes. the palate reveals a loose, fresh, deep material, with a beautiful volume and racy tannins. it is a wine that can be enjoyed with red meats in sauce, such as beef burgundy. in order to enjoy the whole of its aromatic palette, carafez it before the tasting!"
