Bas-Armagnac is the northernmost region of Armagnac, straddling the departments of Gers and Landes, and is considered the region that produces the finest and most aromatic brandies. Its most famous part was formerly called the "grand bas-armagnac" or "Grand-Bas": it is the part of the Landes where the Château de Lacquy, the northernmost estate of the whole appellation, is located.
