Vin de Pays de L'Hérault

Pays d'Hérault is the IGP title for wines produced in the Hérault department of Languedoc-Roussillon on the south coast of France. The IGP catchment area encompasses the entire department regardless of terroir, and includes everything from mountains to coastal plains. 

 

The Hérault is one of the most wine-producing departments in France, and produces IGP and AOC wines such as Faugères and most of the Languedoc vineyards. There are a number of other IGP titles that cover land in the Hérault department, including  des Côtes de Thau, Vicomté d'Aumelas and Haute Vallée de l'Orb.

 

The Pays d'Hérault law also provides for 16 delimited areas within the IGP framework that can be labeled as additional geographical indicators: Bérange, Bénovie, Pays de Bessan, Cassan, Pays de Caux, Cessenon, Collines de la Moure, Coteaux de Bessilles, Coteaux de Fontcaude, Coteaux de Laurens, Coteaux de Murviel, Coteaux du Salagou, Côtes du Brian, Côtes du Ceressou, Mont Baudile and Monts de la Grage.
