All over the world, French red wine graces on the most starry tables. Some bottles see their values increase over the years. Great wines aged 20 years or more can thus cost several thousand euros.
As the world's leading producer with around 30 million hectoliters per year, France has forged its reputation as a wine country. The great variety of appellations feeds a vast choice of tastes for the greatest pleasure of oenophiles. With the duration of the winemaking process and the year of the harvest or vintage, the grape variety is at the origin of the characteristics of each wine. An appellation indicates in particular the grape variety and the winemaking process specific to a wine and its terroir.
