Charmes-Chambertin is an appellation that extends an area of more than 28 hectares. Charmes-Chambertin is one of the 9 Grands Crus of the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, where the entire vineyard is located.
The vines are planted on varied soils with a clayey-limestone slope and a top of slope composed of brown earth, silt and gravelly scree. On Charmes-Chambertin are produced only single grape red wines of Pinot Noir. They are characterized by the intensity of their bouquet (aromas of fruit, spices and flowers), elegance, great complexity and tannins combining density and power, thus announcing a good ageing potential of more than ten years.
