The AOC Bandol or Vin-de-Bandol extends over 1.555 ha and is located on the seafront in the department of Var. This appellation area covers 8 communes: Bandol, La Cadière, Le Beausset, Le Castellet, Ollioules, Sainte Anne d'Evenos, Saint-Cyr and Sanary.
Sunshine is ideal, mild temperatures and sufficient rainfall also. In addition, the Mistral wind dries out the humidity, which benefits the vines and allows the grapes to reach their degree of maturity without hindrance. In Bandol, the harvest is carefully and exclusively manual.
The wines, made from traditional grape varieties (cinsault, grenache, ugni...), have a yield of 80,000 hl/year for the three colors. The intensely colored reds with red fruit (morello cherry), cinnamon, spice and leather aromas have an exceptional ageing potential.
The AOC Bandol benefits from an international reputation thanks to its controlled production and its terroir which favours the elaboration of high quality wines.
