The Cornas vineyard is located on the eastern slope of the Massif Central in the commune of Cornas. The steep slopes, facing East and South-East, form a natural amphitheatre that protects the vines from the cold winds.
Like all northern red wines, Cornas is made from Syrah, which is the only grape variety authorized in the entire appellation area. The terroir allows the expression of its power, and gives its wines a rich substance and a dark, almost black color. These wines can be kept for a long time and have aromas of black fruits which, as they age, take on a spicy and "liquorice" finish as the tannins become rounder. The wines evolve towards aromas of leather, pepper and truffle.
