Toscana

Nestled in the center of Italy and bordered by the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west, this largely hilly region offers its wines the benefit of a Mediterranean climate on its coast, while its heart benefits, thanks to the Apennine mountain range, from a more continental climate. The vineyards enjoy both, offering Tuscany - both one of the oldest and most important wine regions in Italy - a multitude of renowned vintages.

 

Red wines are particularly well represented here, benefiting from a host of DOC and DOCG appellations: Chianti, Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Carmignano, Rosso di Montalcino, Bolgheri, Morellino di Scansano... but above all Brunello di Montalcino make the reputation of Tuscan red wines internationally.

 

Red wines called "Supers Toscans" are also a must! Resulting from the blending of Sangiovese with international grape varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, etc.) and the desire, during the 1970s, to modernize the Tuscan wine offer, they are today among the best red wines in Italy!
