The AOC Pessac-Léognan is a fairly recent appellation. Situated on the southern, south-western edge of Bordeaux, the appellation includes all the great classified growths of the Graves, including the mythical Château Haut-Brion. It produces a lot of red wines, around 67,000 hl/year on 1,300 ha.
