The Puligny-Montrachet appellation is a communal appellation of the Côte de Beaune, in the Côte d'Or region, which includes 17 climats classified as Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru and four Grands Crus.
The Puligny-Montrachet wine is an AOC of Côte de Beaune, located in the department of Côte-d'or. Close to the Burgundy Grand Crus, the village of Puligny-Montrachet is located between the villages of Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet.
The vineyard of Puligny-Montrachet wines benefits from an exposure to the east and south-east between 220 and 320 meters of altitude. The appellation is perfectly highlighted within domains such as those of Joseph Drouhin, Domaine d'Auvenay, Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils, or Maison Louis Jadot.
The wines of Puligny-Montrachet share with Chassagne-Montrachet the most perfect expression of Chardonnay. Just a few meters from the Grand Crus, the AOC established in 1937 offers a white wine with an assertive personality and a high reputation.
