"today, it is christian roulleau, founder of samsic who is at the head of this prodigious operation, laurent fortin remaining in the general management and philippe roux in the technical management. château dauzac has the immense privilege of having a single vineyard of 49 hectares: 45 hectares in the margaux appellation and 4 hectares in the haut-médoc appellation. located near the gironde, whose influence on the ecosystem of the vineyard is capital, the estate is protected from the ocean winds by its privileged location in the heart of a set of 120 hectares of meadows and forests. the château dauzac harvest is destemmed before fermenting in stainless steel vats, equipped with a patented system of dislocation of the marc, which allows an excellent extraction of tannins. all this facilitates the selection of the best vats that will be reserved exclusively to the castle dauzac during assemblies. the second wine, la bastide dauzac, benefits from the same care as the great wine. the château dauzac has the particularity and privilege of having a single vineyard of 49ha on the appellation margaux (45ha) and haut-médoc (4ha). there are nearly 70% cabernet sauvignon, 29% merlot and a few feet of petit-verdot. the harvest is done by hand to respect the integrity of the fruit as much as possible. each plot is then vinified separately with the sweetest extractions possible. in 2016, château dauzac was the first grand cru classé from 1855 to offer a «vegan» wine with the use of vegetable proteins instead of egg white. the wines are aged between 12 and 18 months in barrels (60% new). the wine has a very strong purple colour and a delicious bouquet mixing black fruits and spices. the mouth is dense, sustained and particularly rich. tannins will need a few years to relax. it is definitely a great wine to keep."
