conde de salceda gran reserva 1987 is a spanish red wine produced by bodega conde de salceda, located in la rioja. founded in 1940, bodega conde de salceda owns 200 hectares of vineyards in the la rioja region, known for the production of quality wines. the winery is equipped with modern technology for the vinification and ageing of the wines. the 1987 vintage was considered a good one in spain, with an abundant harvest of quality grapes. this wine has a dark ruby colour with brown and copper highlights. on the nose it has aromas of candied red fruit, leather, tobacco and vanilla, as well as hints of wood and sweet spices from its ageing in oak barrels. on the palate, it is dry and full-bodied, with ripe, silky tannins, balanced acidity and a long, lingering finish. this wine can be cellared for several years, but is ready to drink now and can be enjoyed with red meat dishes, game or mature cheeses.
