"franck bonville owns many parcels located on the most beautiful terroirs of the côte des blancs. in 2012, olivier bonville decided to take advantage of this fabulous vintage to isolate his most beautiful vines and create a range of 3 parcel-based cuvées, representing 3 mythical villages classified as grand cru: oger, avize and le-mesnil-sur-oger. the pur oger 2014 cuvée, produced by franck bonville, is a blanc de blancs whose chardonnays come from the most beautiful parcels of the estate located in oger. the terroir of oger is quite singular in champagne. indeed, we find chalk at a depth of nearly 3 meters, the roots will therefore draw their aromas from a siliceous soil and give round, generous and slightly spicy chardonnays. this cuvée is vinified and aged in stainless steel tanks and malolactic fermentation is carried out. the bottles, corked, have benefited from a prolonged ageing of 5 years in the cellars of the house and the wine is dosed at 5.8 g/l so that the singularities and particularities of the oger terroir are fully expressed. the year 2014 gives this blend of two parcels of the oger terroir, sweet and pastry-like fragrances. on these first notes, an airy lightness evolves, supported by the characteristic freshness of this terroir. the confectionery aromas and the touch of sour sweets bring vivacity and accompany a fresh finish with notes of liquorice and lemon. this wine is balanced, generous and full-bodied."
