The Collines Rhodaniennes Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) was introduced in 2011 to replace the Vin de Pays des Collines Rhodaniennes label. The area of the PGI des Collines Rhodaniennes appellation covers many cantons in the departments of Ardèche, Drôme, Isère, Loire and Rhône.
The soils of the PGI des Collines Rhodaniennes are mainly granitic. Their high heat storage capacity contributes to the good ripening of the grapes.
The monovarietal grape variety is one of the specificities of the vineyards of the Collines Rhodaniennes. The white wines of the Rhodanian Hills, they mainly use Roussanne, Marsanne and Viognier grape varieties. The white wines offer a pleasant liveliness and are characterized by their finesse.
