The AOC L'Étoile covers 60 hectares, mainly around the commune of L'Étoile, and part of Plainoiseau. The semi-continental Jura climate covers this area, with a local microclimate that protects the vineyard from spring and summer storms.
90% of the vines are planted with Chardonnay (locally called Gamay blanc), which particularly appreciates the clay-limestone soils specific to this terroir. It is accompanied in the blends by Savagnin and to a lesser extent by Poulsard, especially for the elaboration of straw wines. The vineyard of L'Étoile produces 2,680 hectoliters of wine per year, vinified in white only, dry, yellow (from the Savagnin alone), straw wine.
The AOC L'Étoile offers very interesting, elegant and fine wines, among the best in the Jura. The dry benches are smooth in the mouth and of low acidity, very aromatic with their accents of flint, walnut or hazelnut.
