The region is at the foot of the Alps and Apennines mountains. The region is protected from the Mediterranean winds and benefits from a beautiful exposure with satisfactory temperature variations for the vines. It is a vineyard with more than 39 DOC, 6 territorial appellations and 7 DOGC. These DOGCs are mainly Gav and l’Asti.
The base of the soils in Piedmont is clay-limestone and sandy. The presence of sand is important for the finesse of the wines. Grape varieties such as Arneis, Cortes, Favorita and Moscato are used for white wines.
