The Rioja D.O.C. appellation is located in the center of Spain. La Rioja along with the Priotat, is the only spanish region with the D.O.C. distinction.
Rioja is one of the most renowned designations on the peninsula, whose capital is Logroño. Its surface of 63 000 hectares, is divided into three regions with very different climates: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Baja. The king grape varieties for the whites are White Grenache, Malvasia and Macabeu.
