The vineyards of the Valais contribute one third of the total Swiss production. Over more than one hundred kilometers, they stretch along the Rhone River. Their well-exposed slopes stretch continuously from the communes of Salquenen in the east to Martigny in the west.
The favorable climate, dry and sunny, and the diversity of the soils, which vary from one parchet to another, produces in Valais an astonishing wealth of singular wines from a multitude of grape varieties. The range of white wines extends from the fine and light Chasselas to specialties such as withered, full and complex wines.
Valais is a paradise for wine lovers who want to discover the most varied experiences. Protected by the barrier of the Alps, Valais has by far the driest climate of all Swiss wine regions.
