The AOC Marsannay, located just outside the city of Dijon, begins the wine growing area of the Côte de Nuits. Implanted on a clay-limestone unit of the Middle Jurassic, the vineyard evolves within four very distinct zones, representing a total area of 215 hectares: the northern and southern slopes of Marsannay, the slopes of Couchey and the combo of Marsannay.
The red wines are obviously made from the Pinot Noir grape variety. In all, 8,600 hectoliters of wine are produced each year. The red wines from the northern hillside of Marsannay have an excellent reputation.
