Formerly called Vin De Pays d'Oc, this IGP regional Vin De Pays since 2009, is the part of the region in France that produces the most Vin De Pays. The vineyard, between mountains, valleys and oceans, with very diverse soils, covers more than half of the Languedoc wine production.
The Pays Minervois, the Corbières Massif, the Pays Roussillonais, the Camargue, the Rhone Valley, are geographical locations that have become very touristy, thanks to their castles, forests, garrigues and mountains, as well as a Mediterranean climate attractive to tourists.
The lands of the Pays d'Oc represent more than 60% of the production of French vin de pays, with 5.3 million hectoliters produced in 2009.
