Located between the Danube and the Black Sea, Dobrogea is famous for its magnificent vineyards, such as Murfatlar, Niculitel, Sarichioi...
Wine has been produced in this region since antiquity, as evidenced by the many remains related to the cult of Dionysus dating back to the time of Greek colonization. This coastal region which extends from the Ukrainian border to the Bulgarian border has several qualities favorable to the culture of the vine. Located in the south-eastern part of the country, it benefits from a climate characterized by long and warm autumns. Here, there are about 300 sunny days per year. The proximity of the Black Sea gives it the freshness and humidity necessary for the cultivation of the vine and the development of noble rot. The soil of the hills is calcareous and the coast is alluvial and sandy.
