The AOC Béarn is located in the departments of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées and Gers between the Gaves of Pau and Oloron.
The appellation area includes 270 hectares of vineyards, two thirds of which are merged with the Madiranese and the Jurançon.
The region has a humid oceanic climate, tempered by the nearby Pyrenees.
The vines occupy 2 types of topographical zones: hillsides of marl or acid clay soils, and gravel plains in the Gave de Pau valley.
This AOC Béarn appellation produces red wines. Used for the production of red wines, the tannat, the two cabernets, the courbu, the fer-servadou and the manseng, give generous and full-bodied reds, marked by the power of the tannat.
