The AOC Côtes-du-Marmandais is located on the average Garonne, on an area of 1320 hectares and extends to 27 communes of Lot-et-Garonne. The vineyard is located around Marmande on both banks of the Garonne, between Agen and Bordeaux.
The vines grow on a well-irrigated and sufficiently sun-exposed terroir, under the influence of a mild and humid oceanic climate but with hot and drier summers. This appellation produces an average of 78,400 hectoliters of wine each year.
The AOC Côtes du Marmandais historically uses the grape varieties of its Bordeaux neighbor but has the particularity of imposing the presence of at least 25% of different grape varieties in the blends, including the very local abouriou, which produces fruity and colorful wines. Although subject to strong competition and a little classic, the Côtes-du-Marmandais are white wines with warm, supple, generous accents and a certain aromatic finesse.
