"the castle takes its name from its geographical location on the hill of cos and from the name of françois labory, owner until 1845. mr d'estournel then acquired the property before selling it to an english banker, charles martyns, in 1852. george weber finally bought the property in the 1930s, before bequeathing it to his daughter and son-in-law, françois audoy, in 1959. in 1971, the couple also acquired the neighbouring vineyard, château andron blanquet. their sons worked alongside them on both estates for several years before bernard, the eldest, took the reins of the properties. a man of calm and reassuring strength, he has always lived in saint-estèphe and perfectly embodies his vintage and the appellation he has presided over since 2000. a typical bordeaux blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc, this wine presents black fruits in the form of casings and wonderful tertiary aromas of leather and meat."
