aymeric and thibault machard de gramont, the two sons of chantal lescure, took over the estate on the death of their mother in 1996. the chantal lescure estate, located in nuit-saint-georges, was bought by eric rousseau, head of one of the emblematic estates of burgundy, and by a dijon, jean-philippe girard, former head of eurogerm. each year 19 vintages from 35 plots are made. the philosophy of the property and its passionate team is simple: produce authentic and pure wines, a true reflection of their terroir. for this, the property applies viticulture that respects the life of the soil, the plant and its environment. we seek optimal maturity through naturally controlled yields. we carry out a smooth vinification, attentive to the particularities of each terroir, and we practice a long maturation on lees, in burgundian pieces and in 500-liter barrels (moderate use of new wood). the wine is bottled on the estate, without filtering or clarifying. living terroirs, authentic wines. the talented françois chaveriat currently runs the discreet but effective domain of him, a rising star. harvested by hand. after a few days of cold maceration, it spontaneously fermented with native yeasts. aged in 30% used barrels and 70% stainless steel for 12-15 months in the property's old cold cellars. on lees without filter. fresh and ample aroma. on the palate it is fruity, frank and well structured. sweet cherry, ripe raspberry, wild fruits. subtle earthy mineral note. soft tannins. elegant spicy finish.
