Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet is one of the five Grands Crus appellations of the Côte de Beaune (the other four being Bâtard-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet and Montrachet).
The Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet appellation covers a total area of 1.57 hectares. The vines are planted between 240 and 250 meters of altitude and benefit from clayey-limestone soils.
The Chardonnay produced in the Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet appellation usually presents a golden color with reflections ranging from green to yellow as it ages. These white wines develop complex aromas of pastries, honey, sweet spices and vegetal notes. Harmonious on the palate, they perfectly combine charm, depth and smoothness.
