The AOC Saint-Romain comes in two colors, but owes its reputation to its beautiful white wines. Located at an altitude of 290 to 430 meters, the 150 hectare vineyard is planted on steep slopes and excellent soils. Their composition is variable, it can be marly, limestone, with clayey banns in places.
The climatic factors of the vineyard play a very important role on the vines. Indeed, good years give magnificent wines, whereas cold and rainy years are not very favourable. The white wines are made with Chardonnay grapes.
The white wines are also characterized by their fruity character, but they draw their bouquet from Chardonnay to offer a nose of lime blossom, white flowers and a good minerality. This well marked minerality is also found in the mouth, and rounds out with time to reveal softness.
