To the north and south of Tain-l'Hermitage, crozes-hermitage vines surround the hermitage appellation. In this vast, relatively flat area, the surface area of the vineyard, which is expanding, is today practically equivalent to that of the peach.
The different geological outcrops bring a certain diversity to the wines; the Marsanne grape variety is the great grape variety for white wines, which are fresh and pleasant to drink.
