Hawke's Bay is one of the warmest and driest regions in New Zealand, making it one of the largest producers of amazing white wines. It is the first stop on the New Zealand Wine Road. Hawkes bay is the second largest wine region in the country with a long tradition of table wines. Vines have been growing here for over 100 years.
Producer of a great diversity of wines, the main white grape varieties are : Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Semillon, Gewürztraminer, Viognier, Pinot Grigio.
These white wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Viogniers, are among the best in New Zealand.
