Rias Baixas is a booming Spanish wine region that is famous for its excellent white wines, among the best in the country. Its wines made from the Albariño grape variety are highly prized.
The Rias Baixas region stretches across northwestern Spain on the Atlantic coast. This appellation covers the coast of Galicia for 50 kilometers as well as the river valleys of its immediate hinterland. The region is clearly influenced by the ocean, it has a cooler and wetter climate than the rest of the country.
