Côtes de Provence is an appellation of the Provence wine region, covering an area of about 20,000 hectares. The AOC Côtes de Provence is of course the star appellation for rosé wines since they represent 90% of the volume of wines produced. Indeed, it mainly produces rosés that develop fruity (white fruit, citrus, exotic fruit, red fruit) and floral aromas to which are added mineral and empyreumatic notes. They are both round and lively.
The finest rosés come from the coastal vineyards while the fullest rosé wines come from the vineyards perched on the heights. The Côtes de Provence rosé wines are mainly made from Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah while Mourvèdre, Tibouren or the white grape variety Rolle can complete the blend. With their pale pink color ranging from salmon pink to old pink, the Côtes de Provence rosé wines are available in a beautiful palette of aromatic expressions that vary according to the terroir.
