The AOC Saumur-Champigny comes from the AOC Saumurois. Its appellation area covers nine 9 communes of the Maine-et-Loire department, near the commune of Champigny. 85,000 hectoliters of wine are produced annually on the 1,500 hectares of this AOC.
The soils on which the vineyard extends have the particularity of being covered with sand, gravel and clay, which truly distinguishes this red wine from the AOC Saumurois and which, giving it different characters, makes it an exceptional wine.
A beautiful garnet red makes its robe luminous. It can be drunk young, but it is advisable to keep it at least a few years so that it can reveal all its complexity.
