Domaine Belluard
Created in 1947, the Domaine BELLUARD occupies ten hectares in the small municipality of Ayse, in Haute-Savoie (France). It is located in the heart of the Arve Valley, between Geneva and Chamonix Mont-Blanc. Since 1988, Dominique BELLUARD has cultivated one of the oldest vineyards in the Alps, where a unique and endemic grape variety, the "Gringet", is preserved. Today, to achieve the best typicity of the wines, the main concern of the estate is to cultivate the vines with the greatest respect for the terroirs and traditions. For this reason, the farm was transformed in 2001 to work organically.
This year 2021 has been cursed for the Belluard family, due to the death of their alma mater Dominique, hence our condolences to the family.
Following Dominique's abrupt departure, Valérie, Dominique Belluard's partner, turned to her lifelong friend from Jura, Jean-François Ganevat, to create this Eponyme cuvée. This homage cuvée is a blend of the different gringet plots that were used in the le Feu and les Alpes cuvées. A gringet with a surprising and reductive style, offering subtle floral and yellow fruit notes. The palate is lively, tasty, enhanced by hints of spices. A wine to taste in memory of a great Savoie winegrower.
