"since 1843, our maison has paid tribute to the dream of its founder, joseph krug, by creating each year a new edition of krug grande cuvée, the most generous expression of champagne, regardless of annual climatic variations. the maison believes that each millésime krug expresses the unique character of a singular vintage. a millésime krug brings together the most expressive wines from the same vintage, enhanced by more than ten years of cellar ageing. each krug millésime is different: it is the music of the year, transposed into the krug universe. krug 2008 is the elegant and intense story of a fresh and balanced year, which the tasting committee of our maison has called ""timeless elegance"". the unexpected variety of the vines is reflected in great complexity, and we have observed a very broad spectrum of flavours and aromas during the vintages. for the final blend, our cellar master selected the wines that embody all the complexity of 2008, in a composition admirably structured and marked by the elegance of this vintage. after 12 years in our cellars, krug 2008 has intensified its expression and presents an extraordinary, precise and harmonious profile. at first sight, krug 2008 reveals a luminous and intense golden colour. the nose is expressive, rich and generous, with aromas overlaid with honey, liquorice, menthol, orange and grapefruit peel. lively, intense and harmonious, with a beautiful tension on the palate and a taste marked by notes of quince, candied fruit and citrus, yellow kiwi, carambola, honey, apple pie, petit beurre biscuit, orange peel, peony and fennel, and hints of floral and mineral notes."
