The small vineyard of Collioure is located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees mountain range in the south of the Pyrénées-Orientales department in the communes of Collioure, Port Vendres, Banyuls and Cerbère. The appellation area merges with that of Banyuls and Banyuls Grand Cru, in the communes of Collioure, Port-Vendres, Banyuls and Cerbère.
In a vast amphitheatre facing the sea, the vineyard of the wines of Collioure is made up of small terraces held back by nearly 6,000 kilometers of dry stone walls, fashioned over the centuries by generations of winegrowers. The hillsides, with slopes of up to 40%, rest on the bedrock formed of brown Cambrian schist. The terroir is perfectly highlighted in the vintages offered by Domaine Coume del Mas, Domaine de la Rectorie, Cave de l'Abbé Rous or Domaine du Mas Blanc.
In the white Collioure wines, the grapes from the old grey Grenache vines, accompanied by the white Grenache, will give all their potential to these terroir wines. This new great of the south adapts perfectly to the richness of the products of the Mediterranean. The wines of Collioure are fleshy, warm, concentrated, tannic and improve in bottle for many years.
