The Petite Champagne is in second position, behind the Grande Champagne, in the order of cognac vintages. If the eaux-de-vie of these two crus have similar characteristics, those of the Petite Champagne show remarkable finesse and supple aromas. It is the very nature of the soil that explains the delimitation of the two crus and their respective qualities. Thus, geology tells us that the layers of limestone are less thick in Petite Champagne. Of course, being "neighbors", they benefit from the same climatic treatment.
