The Quincy appellation of origin is a historical appellation of the Loire Valley, which celebrated its 70 years of AOC in 2006. Quincy was the first AOC recognized in the Loire Valley.
Historic cradle of Sauvignon, Quincy is characterized by its homogeneous terroir. Located essentially on the left bank of the Cher River upstream from Vierzon, the vineyard covers 270 hectares. The soils are predominantly sand and gravel, resting on clayey gravel on the lacustrine limestone of Berry.
The Quincy AOC only concerns dry white wines made from Sauvignon. Quincy wines are fine wines that are distinguished by their citrus fruit aromas with hints of white flowers and pepper. Their qualities will be fully revealed to white wine enthusiasts, particularly through tasting the vintages offered by the Domaine du Tremblay.
